The Mufti, the Führer, and the Forgotten Alliance
How Islamists Found a Willing Partner in Hitler’s Germany
They met in Berlin. One wore a turban. The other wore a swastika. And both wanted the Jews dead.
On November 28, 1941, Adolf Hitler hosted one of Islam’s most powerful clerics in his Berlin office: Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. The purpose wasn’t a mystery. It was an alliance. And the shared goal was simple: remove Jews from the earth.
This wasn’t a minor episode in history. It shaped the ideology we’re still fighting today.
Because while modern textbooks sanitize jihad, and our leaders pretend Islamic ideology has nothing to do with fascist totalitarianism, Hitler didn’t make that mistake.
He embraced it.
The Islamic Cleric Who Worked for Hitler
Haj Amin al-Husseini wasn’t some backbench cleric. He was the highest Islamic authority in Jerusalem.
After World War I, the British controlled Palestine under a League of Nations mandate. Tensions between Arabs and Jews were rising, especially after the 1917 Balfour Declaration supporting a Jewish homeland.
To manage Arab anger and maintain order, British High Commissioner Herbert Samuel (himself Jewish) appointed 26-year-old Haj Amin al-Husseini as the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, even though he had lost the election for the position. Samuel hoped al-Husseini’s religious influence would calm the Arab population and create a cooperative bridge between Muslim leaders and the colonial administration.
It backfired spectacularly.
He incited riots in 1929 that killed 133 Jews.
He raised money for anti-Jewish militias.
He supported the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine.
By 1941, he had fled the British and was warmly welcomed in Berlin, where Hitler granted him official state reception and the Nazi SS gave him a mansion and staff.
The Nazi record of their meeting includes this:
“Germany’s objective would then be solely the destruction of the Jewish element residing in the Arab sphere… In that hour, the Mufti would be the most authoritative spokesman for the Arab world.”
—Berlin Memo, Nov 28, 1941
Al-Husseini didn’t just meet Hitler. He worked for him.
He became a recruiter of Muslims across Europe to fight for the Reich. The result? Entire Muslim Waffen-SS divisions, trained by Nazis and sanctioned by imams. The most infamous:
The 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS “Handschar” (1943)
Made up of Bosnian Muslims
Wore fezzes with SS insignia
Pledged loyalty to Adolf Hitler personally
Took part in massacres of Serbs and Jews in Yugoslavia
Even Heinrich Himmler was impressed by Islam. In a 1944 speech to Handschar troops, he praised Islam’s “promise of paradise for warriors,” calling it “a practical religion for soldiers.”
Al-Husseini helped organize this. He blessed it religiously. He even issued fatwas encouraging Muslims to fight for Hitler.
While European Jews were being slaughtered in gas chambers, some Jewish children were scheduled to be released to Palestine. Al-Husseini stopped it.
In 1943, he successfully lobbied Nazi officials to cancel transfer plans for 4,000 Jewish children, arguing that they might "infiltrate" Palestine. The children were sent to Auschwitz instead.
This is the man that modern Palestinian nationalists still honor.
Hitler didn’t find Islam peaceful. He found it useful.
In his private conversations, recorded in Hitler’s Table Talk, he said:
“The Mohammedan religion... would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?”
He believed Islam was a warrior religion—a system that demanded obedience, death to the infidel, and reward through blood.
Sound familiar?
The Nazi vision of totalitarian purity had a match in Islamic supremacy. Both believed in:
One leader
One ideology
One enemy
And the enemy was the Jew.
This alliance between Islamists and Nazis is not debated. It’s documented in photos, military records, SS files, and Nuremberg testimonies.
And yet? It’s nearly erased from public memory.
Because admitting this history unravels the carefully protected narrative:
That Muslim leaders have always resisted oppression
That Islamic terrorism is a modern, isolated phenomenon
That Islam and fascism have nothing in common
In truth, the Grand Mufti helped shape the modern jihadist movement. His nephew? Yasser Arafat, founder of the PLO.
The ideology of death didn’t die in a Berlin bunker.
It metastasized in the Middle East.
And it’s still alive, on the streets of Gaza, in the sermons of mosques, and in the slogans chanted by pro-Hamas protesters in London and New York.
This isn’t just about Nazis and Islamists. It’s about what happens when the world ignores evil alliances, just because they don’t fit the preferred narrative.
The Mufti’s photo should be on every history class wall.
Next to Hitler.
Not to compare religions.
To expose the collaboration that provided ideological ammunition for modern jihad.
The same spirit that recruited Muslim SS fighters in 1943 now recruits child martyrs in Jenin.
The same hatred that cheered the Holocaust now calls for a “Free Palestine from the river to the sea.”
The same silence that protected the Mufti now shields Hamas.
Never forget this: Islamists and Nazis shook hands once before. And the world paid in blood.
Let’s not let it happen again.

Thank you, Ms. Cyrus for this post. I have known from the time that I was a teenager of the Nazi-Muslim alliance. Islam is quite compatible with both Nazism and Communism. They are all totalitarian in nature. What makes Islam even worse, is that it is not an ideology, but a theology. How does one defeat a theology? It is a pity that most people (including Jews) no nothing of this alliance and that to this day, “Qafahi” (“Mein Kampf” in Arabic) is a best seller. One can say that Muhammad preceded Hitler in wanting the total annihilation of the Jews. The “Day of Judgment” Hadith which states that all Jews will be killed at the end of time is basically a 7th Century version of the “Final Solution.” No wonder Hitler and the Nazis loved Islam!
Back in March 2024, I completed reading the turgid diatribe of Jew Hatred that was Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.
Then, I started reading the Quran, and after 14 months, I am only 37% of the way through reading it.
However, that is way more than enough for me to conclude it is a disjointed, incoherent, misogynistic and turgid diatribe of Christian and Jew hatred, that as such, is a most logical follow up to Hitler's Mein Kampf!
Which has been further reinforced from the Hadiths and sections of Sharia Law manual of the Reliance of the Traveller that I have read.
For example; https://sunnah.com/muslim:2922
"The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews."
